The camshaft adjuster, developed by SHW Automotive GmbH, is such an innovative product that contributes to the reduction of CO2-emission. Though, with the production line technology available at that time, it would have been impossible to achieve an economic production with this kind complexity in Europe. Fortunately, in cooperation between GDO and SHW Automotive, a solution was developed that made the production feasible in terms of quality and costs.

GDO as a competent and experienced special machine developer, having its own tooling shop, and SHW Automotive as product expert, have jointly developed a innovative assembly line. Not only are the single parts assembled to a product, but also logistics and quality checks have been considered. Furthermore, all process data is gathered and stored electronically.

The result of all this is a high quality machine with optimal human-machine ratio, and due to the high rate of automation, a production that can be run in Germany.
